Ways to Give

You can help students transition from aspiration to achievement at National University in several meaningful ways. Whether through one-time or recurring donations, corporate matching gifts, or legacy-building gift planning, your support plays a crucial role. The National University Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization, making all contributions tax-deductible.

Your gift empowers us to

  • Provide scholarships and financial aid to deserving students
  • Enhance academic programs and support faculty excellence
  • Strengthen our community and make a lasting impact on society

The NU Foundation recognizes donors at every level of giving based on cumulative calendar-year contributions — meaning every gift you make throughout the year counts toward your total.

President’s Society giving begins at the $5,000 level and is one of the most meaningful ways to make a profound impact on our community of learners.

  • Exclusive invitations to events and receptions with President Mark D. Milliron, Ph.D.
  • Insider communications highlighting university initiatives, student stories, and strategic priorities.

Donor Advised Fund

At National University, we are committed to providing accessible, affordable education to students from all walks of life. By contributing via a Donor Advised Fund (DAF), you can play a pivotal role in supporting our mission while enjoying a flexible, tax-efficient way to manage your charitable giving.

IRA Charitable Rollover

If you are 70½ or older, you can make a tax-free donation directly from your IRA to the National University Foundation. This Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) can satisfy all or part of your required minimum distribution while supporting student success.

Real Estate

Want to make a big gift to National University without touching your bank account? Consider giving us real estate. Such a generous gift helps us continue to educate adult learners for years to come. And a gift of real estate also helps you. When you give us appreciated property you have held longer than one year, you qualify for a federal income tax charitable deduction. This eliminates capital gains tax. And you no longer must deal with that property’s maintenance costs, property taxes or insurance.

Bequests and Planned Gifts

Planned giving enables you to give gifts of assets during your lifetime or through a will or testamentary instrument. In this way, your gift can be given now or can create a legacy in the future. Planned gifts provide enhanced tax benefits, and some return income to the donor.

Corporate Giving

Corporate giving at National University offers businesses the opportunity to support education, research, and community initiatives while aligning with their corporate social responsibility goals.

  • Sponsorship Opportunities: Enhance your brand visibility by sponsoring scholarships, events, or specific programs.
  • Employee Giving: Encourage your employees to give through workplace giving programs, with the potential to match their contributions.
  • Strategic Partnerships: Collaborate with us on custom initiatives that reflect your company’s values and mission.

Explore Naming Opportunities

Leave a lasting legacy at National University. Naming opportunities allow you to associate your name or your company’s name with scholarships, programs, endowed chairs, or even entire schools.

  • Scholarships: Fund a named scholarship that will benefit students for generations.
  • Endowed Chairs: Support academic excellence by endowing a faculty position.
  • Buildings and Facilities: Leave a physical legacy by naming a building, lab, or facility.
